RITB is offering 14-week Melbourne Marathon 21.1km or 42.2km training schedules that follow a graduated program specifically designed to have you in peak condition on race day.  With accredited recreational running coaches and experienced run leaders guiding each session, our group training runs are an enjoyable way to build up your fitness and make a few new friends along the way. RITB Injury Prevention Seminar featuring Lisa Weightman

Come along and be inspired by words of wisdom and insights from Lisa Weightman, one of Australia’s greatest long distance runners. Lisa has successfully juggled work, family and training commitments to achieve at the highest level and manage injuries along the way.  She will help you to better understand “What is injury prevention” and how can this be managed.  

For any Burber training for a Melbourne Marathon Festival event or other event - this is for you!

DATE: Saturday, August 5 at 12:45 PM - 3:45 PM

Now that we have celebrated the 10th anniversary of our wonderful club, it is time to get your opinion on just what you think of Running in the Burbs.Please follow the link below and take your time to provide feedback on what we do well and not so well, and offer up any suggestions you may have.The survey is open to all members, previous, current and future runners and Facebook page likers.Your responses will assist the committee and run leaders with planning for the future and keeping Running in the Burbs as one of the greatest recreational running clubs in Melbourne.

RITB Marysville Trail Running Camp, 27th-29th Oct 2015

We are excited to announce our upcoming trail running camp. It is for runners of all abilities looking for a challenge, wanting to gain valuable experience and develop their trail running skills. This would be great for the first timers doing TWOBAYS TRAIL RUN 2016. The trails around Marysville lend themselves perfectly to complete trail running novices while still offering some great challenges to those with more experience.

Hosted by Kellie Emmerson, Champion trail and ultrarunner, and member of the 2015 AURA Australian Trailrunning Team; Tegyn Angel, experienced trail and ultrarunner up to the 100mile distance, professional wilderness guide and instructor, and associated editor of Trail Run Mag.

Numbers are limited to 30 participants, so please register for the event on the  WILDPLANS WEBSITE.

Join us for Jells Parkrun Super Saturday, 31. Oct 2015

Running in the Burbs invites you to join our pacers at Jells Park Parkrun Super Saturday, October 31.  We will help to 'pull' you along the course in 22:30, 25:00, 27:30, 30:00, 32:30 minutes.  This is a great opportunity to meet our experienced run leaders, hang around for a chat or join us for a few extra kms to cool down after the race.  Let us know if you have any questions by email to: info@runningintheburbs.org.au

RITB Capital City Trail Excursion - Sat, Sept 26

This Saturday, September 26, we will be away from Jells Park for a scheduled RITB Trail Run Excursion along the Capital City Trail.
WHERE:  Meet at The Tan – The Pillars (near Gate H). WHEN: 7:00am for 7:15am start (Marathon training group - 34km loop along Capital City Trail) or 8:00am for 8:15am start (10K/ Half Marathon training groups - up to 21km out-and-back along the Yarra)  ROUTES:  
A map of the 30km Capital City Trail Course can be found HERE. A map of the 18km out-and-back course along the Yarra can be found HERE.
A map of the 10km out-and-back course along the Yarra can be found HERE. FORMAT:   Easy long run with run-led pace groups between 5-7min/km. There are multiple drink taps along the way and toilet facilities will be available at The Tan, Princess Park and at Collinwood Children's Farm. Make sure to bring some sports drink and/or energy gels along. Mobile phones will be carried by our run leaders. BREAKFAST:  We invite you to join us at Cafe Domain (171 Domain Road, Sth Yarra) for coffee and breakfast afterwards.

Our next goal races will be the 2015Gold Coast Marathon and 2015 Run Melbourne HM/10km on July 5th or July 26th 2015, respectively.  We have entered RITB mixed teams for you to join, and you can refer to the Training Info page on our website for  details about our training sessions.

RITB 'Couch to 5km' Beginners Running Program starting 28th of Feb!

We would like to invite you to participate in the Running in the Burbs 'Couch to 5km' Beginners Running Program.  Proceedings will kick off with a meet-and-greet and a general introduction at Jells Park this Saturday, Feb 28 at 10:30am.  

Please download a copy of the Registration Form with additional information about session locations, session times and payment options. Simply fill it in and bring it along to your first session to guarantee your spot. We look forward to see you soon. ;)

Mullum Mullum Run Excursion - Sat, 7th March

This Saturday, 7th March 2015, we will be away for an excursion at Mullum Mullum Creek. WHERE:  Meet at Burwood Avenue, Ringwood  (Melway Ref: 49 E9). WHEN:  Meet at 7:30am for a 7:45am start. DISTANCES: 9km (short) or 18km (long) out-and-back with a few hills.  FORMAT: Most of te run will be  along bike path mixed with a series of timber bridges and boardwalks in a hidden pocket of remnant native bushland.  The pace will be leisurely, and we will ask faster runners to loop back at the top of clibms to make sure the group stays together.
BREAKFAST:  We will have breakfast afterwards at a cafe near Ringwood (TBA).

Churchil Park Trail Run Excursion - Sat, 29th Nov

This Saturday, 29th Nov 2014, we will be away from Jells Park for a Trail Run Excursion scheduled to Churchill Park. WHERE:  Meet at the afterhours carpark on Churchill Park Drive just outside from the Main Gate to Churchill Park (Melway Ref 82 C10) WHEN: 7:45am for a 8:00am start. NOTE: There are drink taps and toilet blocks near Lysterfield Lake (12km/ 16km), but it will be a good idea to bring Camelbacks or carry water with you just in case.  Mobile phones will be carried by our volunteer run leaders.  Breakfast will be at Trailmix Café inside Lysterfield Lake Park, just a 10min drive away. Enjoy!
