About Us

Running in the Burbs (RITB) is a not-for-profit incorporated association affiliated with Athletics Victoria as an official community-based recreational running group.  This provides a range of benefits, including insurance cover for all official RITB training sessions and access to services that will help to manage, administer, promote, encourage and improve athletics in Victoria.

The RITB Committee is made up of regular runners who will focus on a number of activities including qualified training programs and opportunities for a variety of sessions, communication through our email database, Facebook and newsletters, sponsorship and marketing, as well as social and running events. Committee members will be elected/re-elected annually and we welcome anyone with interest to attend committee meetings.

We cater for runners of all levels of fitness and ability, based on our guiding principles:

  • Training facilitation for a wide variety of ages, abilities and distances
  • Qualified run training support and advice by our AV-accredited recreational running coaches
  • Specific training programs for major events such as Run Melbourne or The Melbourne Marathon
  • Flexibility of training participation including casual visits, short-term or long-term fitness goals
  • Variety with road trips and social events encompassing friendly relaxed fellowship

We believe that, underpinned by the new structure and sound principles, the future potential of Running in the Burbs in Melbourne's Eastern Suburbs is boundless, and we look forward to helping everyone achieve their goals.
